The Tuned Pale Ale’s bottles show a musical scale on its label. Drink it down to the note you want, blow on it, and it will play it back.

Sadly this microbrew is no longer in production, but I’d love to see more people do this with their lablels.

A Robot Shirt With A Built-In Bottle Opener

Recently the parent company of popular craft breweries Magic Hat and Pyramid was sold to North American Breweries, the group responsible for such questionable products as Labatt Blue and Seagram’s Escapes wine coolers. While many see this as bad news, I explain why it might actually be good for craft beer in the long run.

The Hops Holster

A recent British study has shed some light on the science behind ‘beer goggles.’ Our tendency to find others more attractive while intoxicated is directly related to our preference for symmetry, the study suggests. Alcohol it would seem greatly impairs the part of the brain that distinguishes the symmetrical from the asymmetrical. Follow the link for details.

Recently some of Beeriety crew headed to lovely Chicago, IL to take in the sights, sounds and tastes of The Second City. While we were there, we got the chance to check out many of Chicago’s best beer bars and sample some of the tasty brews that we just can’t get in our home base of Boston. Here’s a quick run-down of where we went and what we drank.

Beer remains most popular alcoholic beverage in US according to...

Beer remains most popular alcoholic beverage in US according to latest Gallup drinking survey

41% of American drinkers prefer beer to liquor or wine. Beer has been the most popular drink every year since the poll’s first year in 1992 with the exception of 2005. That same year the hit film Sideways had people crazy for pinot noir, which may explain the fluke. While beer remains consistently popular it has slid from its high of 47% in 1992.
