Dogfish Head founder/president Sam Calagione describes the creation of Punkin Ale, their fall seasonal pumpkin beer.
“We entered it in its first homebrew competition and the judges were all ‘Pumpkin in beer?’
We were all ‘Yup.’
and they were all ‘First place. We love it.’”

Frozen and Fresh From the Can: The Beer Popsicle
The folks at the Diablo Royale Este saloon in New York are busy injecting cans of Tecate with simple syrup and lime juice and putting them in the freezer (not before jamming a stick through it of course) for four days to create delicious beer flavored popsicles.

Beer remains most popular alcoholic beverage in US according to latest Gallup drinking survey
41% of American drinkers prefer beer to liquor or wine. Beer has been the most popular drink every year since the poll’s first year in 1992 with the exception of 2005. That same year the hit film Sideways had people crazy for pinot noir, which may explain the fluke. While beer remains consistently popular it has slid from its high of 47% in 1992.
